This was the motto of "the White Rose," a dissident student group who stood up against the Third Reich in Nazi Germany.

In the shadow of tyranny, Sophie and Hans Scholl, along with other students and a like-minded professor, formed a small anti-nazi propaganda group called the White Rose. Like abolitionists today, they authored and distributed pamphlets and produced public art exposing the growing evils of the Nazi regime until they were arrested, tried, and executed for their dissident activities.
The White Rose chose courage over silence, action over apathy, and sought justice for the innocent over and above their own personal peace and affluence. Their defiance cost them their lives, but it ignited a flame of moral clarity that still burns today.
With this design, we honor these heroic Christians of the past and unify with them and the spirit of their cause and tactics. The White Rose were true dissidents in their culture of death. They were not seeking big paydays or popularity as cushy public speakers or compromising "social justice warriors."
